The best sloped ceiling light fixtures

A flush mount is designed around a canopy that sits flat against a horizontal plane. Put it on a slope and two things happen: the canopy gaps on the high side, and the fixture points its light down the pitch instead of at the floor. On a shallow slope it looks like a mistake. On a vaulted ceiling it is one.

2. Wattage headroom. Vaulted rooms are tall, so the light has further to travel. A 100W-per-socket maximum buys more room than 60W.
3. Size against the space. A 9.8 inch fixture suits a landing; a 12.6 inch one suits an open kitchen.
4. Location rating. All three are indoor only, which rules out the vaulted porch ceilings people often ask about.
5. What the maker publishes at all. A model number and a warranty are thin on the ground in this category, and that shaped the order.

Measure the pitch, then ask. Since none of these publishes a limit, a quick measurement - rise over run, or an angle from a phone level - is what you take to the seller's question box. A 4:12 roof is about 18 degrees; 12:12 is 45.

Consider the adapter route for a fixture you already love. A rated slope adapter plus a standard fixture is often better documented than a fixture sold as sloped-ready, because the adapter makers publish degree limits.

Mind head height at the low end. On a slope the fixture hangs plumb but the ceiling keeps dropping. Measure from the floor at the lowest point the fixture will sit above, not from the peak.
